psalm 96:1
I will not fear the diseases that roam in darkness, nor the plague that ravages at noon, Psalm 91:6, but I will wash my hands and if my kids are sick they will stay at home!

This morning when I was checking e-mails my oldest, sweet darling walked in and said...
"Mommy, I want to tell you a story, there once was a mommy who was working on her computer, and she had a little girl who was very hungry for cereal"...point taken.

answer to prayer
Today I went to my orientation for the state to see about opening my school. I found out I can operate a Mom's Day Out in my home without being registered or licenced by the state. This is big news for me. Although I know I will fully comply with all state minimum requirements, it will be a huge relief to not have to go through all of the paper work required to operate. There are just so many blessings out of it, that I will not bore you with the details. This was a huge open door for us and getting things rolling in the right direction!!

faith
This morning LE woke up with her eye almost completely swollen shut. As we were leaving for the doctor, I told her to get her shoes on we were going to see Dr. Dudley. She put her hands on her hips and fought back the tears, "You said if I would pray to God, he would make me feel better. You have to give God a chance, you just need to wait."

more big news
A couple of weeks ago two friends approached me about why I did not have my own school. Ben has been asking me for years if I would want to do something like a Mom's Day Out. I guess I was always to chicken to take on that much responsibility. The more I thought about it, the more I wondered why I couldn't do something like that. I have everything from my teaching days in the garage, I have 10 years experience and a framed piece of paper on my wall that says I can. Not to mention LE will be 4 this summer and what was I going to do with her. I am excited to announce that I started a learning center in my living room last week. It is only a couple of kids right now. I have to get registered with the state to have any more, and I am going to do that next week.
For the first day of school we did phonics, sorting, made play-dough and had lots of fun, according to one boy "it wasn't that bad, Mom."

Servolution
This is one of the coolest things I have known our church to do. We are taking part in a world-wide event beginning today (my friends in Africa are even participating). The idea is to break down the walls of the church and reach the community. A couple of weeks ago a guest speaker put it like this - People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care.
I can tell people all day long about Jesus' love, but what Jesus wants me to do is show his love.
So, for the past 48 hours I have been coordinating (like a mad man, I must admit) an outreach to Georgetown High School. Next Tuesday, we will be serving the entire facutly and staff lasagna, hot bread, salad, cookies and iced tea. Then, we are going to stock their fridges with soft drinks, clean their lounge and leave snacks galore to bless their socks off. God has just amazed me with the volunteers who have stepped up to make this happen. The cool thing is out of 42 people I only know 3 of them, these are new volunteers, not the regulars I see serving at every event.
Other events happening over the next 7 days include - Police Station Meals Outreach, Hospital ER workers - adrenaline packs, changing 250 single Moms oil for free, Special Olympics, 6th Street Clean-Up, Homeless Breakfast - downtown Austin, distributing kites to children at Fort Hood, Nursing Home Outreach (the girls and I participating in this one Monday night), remodeling two different playgrounds, one at a Women's shelter, & Meals to Prison Guards.
I am so stoked at the generosity of people.
