San Antonio Zoo trip
I am teaching zoology at co-op this year and for our end of year project I coordinated a field trip to the San Antonio Zoo. I thought since was spring break, it could be a little crowded, but was not thinking the zoo would be hosting spring break camps. It was crazy crowded and humid. Mimi, Emmie and Avery met us for our outing. It was a long day, but R2 got to see his favorite animal the hippo up close and personal, so all was right with the world, that and ice cream.

pioneer girl
Over spring break, LE and Paw Paw went to the Southwestern Regional Rendezvous. They stayed in Paw Paw's tipi and LE said it was the best rendezvous yet.
One of the biggest surprises was when I got to see my pen pal Gracie again. I haven't seen her in two years. We went to kids' games, did the gold scavenger hunt and play hide and seek.
Me and Paw Paw did everything together. We did the tomahawk and knife throw. I watched some of his gun competitions.
I won forty trader bucks for first place in hawk and knife throwing (twice). I won first place in fire starting. I cashed in my trader bucks for necklace and bracelet for Boo, a pitcher for my mom, a coffee mug for Dad, toy gun and holsters for my brothers. I got a new dress, anklet and a top game and a chicken game for both Mimi and I. I gave my friend Gracie a necklace and one for her sister.
One of my favorite kids' games was the gold rush. Our teachers told us about the gold rush in California. During the night, our teachers spread gold painted rocks around the campsite and whoever found the most won a prize. I found the most gold, 1,628 pieces, I won a toy gun for finding the most pieces and I found a gold and silver golf ball and the prize was a real bottle of gold (flakes). I cannot wait till the next rendezvous.

Jeff Clark and Friends
One of our RSB fighters is a singer and had a pretty fun career in the 70's. He recently had a reunion with other Texas musicians and friends. We had a great RSB social to support him at Hanover's. Considering he didn't go on till 10 pm, I think we had a great turnout.

chore chart
For Christmas, each of the kids received the Dave Ramsey chore chart. This past month, the boys began keeping track of their chores. Each day they make their beds, tidy up their room and R2 unloads the dishwasher while HR is responsible for the opening and closing the shutters each day. When they complete their jobs they get "one dot" and when they get seven dots on each row they get to go to Hobby Lobby for a new animal for their zoo.

Because my life isn't crazy enough
My coaches recommended I pursue becoming a personal trainer instead of renewing my group exercise certs. My hopes is that I will get a better understanding of the human body instead of the overview courses I have taken the past six years. This week, I took the plunge and I have nine weeks to finish the course and then an additional four weeks to register and pass the test. This is a going to be a long, crazy spring.

South Austin is a go!
Seriously, I cannot believe this ride we have been on since last September. On March 1st, Rock Steady Boxing Austin launched it's second location on our four month anniversary.
The response has been crazy. We are continuing to grow each week. I am driving to south Austin once and sometimes twice a week, but I am interviewing a couple of trainers who are interested in coaching this location. I am so humbled that God would have chosen our family to be a part of helping so many lives.
