lions & tigers & bears, oh my...
Family night this week was movie and popcorn. The movie, can you guess? My childhood favorite, The Wizard of Oz. The girls were mesmerized. The next morning when we were leaving for church, there were quite a few clouds in the sky and Bella commented" look, a tormado" (not a typo). Then, Tuesday she told me, there are no tigers and bears, just lions. She is gonna be a bright one too.

Mom's Night Out
Every month I get a night out with friends, this week, my friend Kris at Casa de Martinez (far right) planned and we met up at Razzoo's for some cajun food. We had fondue (Pappadeaux's is still my fave) and I had stuffed shrimp. I think it was the only thing on the menu not fried. We had so much fun. We walked to Compass Traders for some jewelry shopping and then sat on the patio at Mighty Expensive, I mean Mighty Fine Burgers with milkshakes in hand. It was a great night girls, thanks!
**On a side note, the day of the night out I went to the gym and worked out for 1hour+ to earn my milkshake. I ran for the 1st time ever a mile in less than 11 minutes, who am I kidding, it was the first time I had EVER ran an entire mile.

muffins
We reviewed our letters this past week, so we just did some fun things that I wanted to do, just for the fun of it. We made mini blueberry muffins. We painted alot. We played outside - is it just me or do the mornings seem to be cooler lately. It was a nice week off from regular lesson plans. The muffins were good too!

the graduate
He did it! Ben graduated from Animation Mentor this weekend in San Francico. This was not your typical graduation and not your typical school. It was the most entertaining graduation I have ever attended. They entered to movie theme soundtracks. It ws a lot of fun, but the best part was Ben getting his diploma.

hug 'em while you can
Today was a tough day.
Last night one of my students from my hometown was admitted to the hospital with severe headaches, could not sit up without passing out and no explanation. Then, this morning I get a message that a student that volunteered in my classroom at the private school I taught at here in Austin was killed in a wreck late last night.
It has just been one of those days that I do not want my girls out of my sight. They probably had one too many pieces of candy today, kissed and hugged more than probably wanted to be. Played every game they asked to play, dressed up every time they wanted to, had their favorite snacks, and probably one too many cups of juice. It did not matter. My mom gave me a sign yesterday that said Count your Blessings -today I did.
Please keep Abby M. (age 15) and the the Koke family- (Caleb age 17) in your prayers.

Fourth of July Family Tradition
We were invited to join Ben's uncle's family on the river again this year. It was a nice break out of the house. The girls splashed everyone and wore themselves out but were too tired to take a nap. We had lots of great (not-healthy) food and lots of fun. LE is already asking to go see Uncle Ronnie, it must be the pony he promised her.
