bloggin noggin nonsense

I hate the sound of "blog brain dumps", so here is my alternative title.
I don't know what it is, but we have had a rough go of it lately.  Starting back with my blog post for prayers.  Two of those we were praying for passed away, one being a baby boy who was only weeks older than R2.  I took that one really hard.
Then, four of us, plus my mom who was here for the weekend got food poisoning.  I was sick for almost 72 hours b/c I got dehydrated.
We put an offer on a farm house on five acres in Georgetown, but withdrew our offer b/c of a pre-inspection-inspection by my builder dad.
Bella was very sick this week with a fever of 103-104 degrees for nearly 48 hours.  She was hours away from being admitted to the hospital, but God touched her and she was up playing, eating and feisty as ever when her fever broke.
Because of the fabulous bugs running rabid through our home, we have not been able to finish up the school year.  Bella is only 3 days away from finishing her kindergarten (which most of it she only began in December) and LE has 2 weeks left of her first grade math, everything else she has long been finished with.
This weekend, we head to my hometown for a family reunion.  I am excited to see family, but not looking forward to being away from home at 7 months pregnant.  And, yes amid all of the other in our life I have hit the emotional, dreaded third trimester.  And yes, the emotions have run wild over the past few weeks.  I am moody and I have cravings like no one's business, and I am uncomfortable, and cranky and rude and annoyed and tired and cranky and moody and hungry.  So bring me chocolate cheesecake if you are any where near.

facebook rant

Do you facebook?  I used to joke when my friends joined "welcome to the dark side."  At the time I was spending hours on the social network, not socializing but stalking (term for looking at friend's pics, status...)  But, lately when I log on, I am just getting more and more frustrated.  I have become quite sick of it to tell the truth.  I hate the sense of false friendship, the sense of you are a part of someone's life b/c you see them on FB.  My friend Erica blogged about this not too long ago & maybe it was the key opening the door, but really I am done with it.  I still have to use it for communication purposes b/c I do not have people's e-mails (b/c of my google acct getting hacked).
I also hate finding out news via facebook.  I guess it could be extended to blogs, but maybe it is b/c my closest friends seem to have blogs and I still get to see them and communicate in real time.  Blogs seem to go into deeper details and if I don't feel like reading a blog I don't have to.  On facebook 1) info is so vague and 2) let's be honest do I need to know every time your kid sneezes?  3) Do I really even know 600 people? and 600 people can be a wee bit noisy (I tried eliminating friends, but still noise pollution galore with tweets and retweets).
Yes, I am in a mood, and maybe facebook is the brunt but I have blogged this post multiple times and then deleted it.  I wanted to let those of you whom I see on FB I am trying to not be on there, so if you want me to know something please pick up the phone b/c I will not be scrolling pages upon pages to see what's going on any more.

hate it when he is right

Ok, I don't hate it, but I hate it when he is right at 1 a.m. I have been staying up way too late watching the Olympics. Last night, Ben told me I needed to go to bed and I did not listen, got in bed around 12ish. At 1, LE came in our room very stinky and crying. I changed her and put her back to bed. About 15 minutes later I heard her coming down the hall crying for Daddy & coughing (this did not wake Daddy, so I put her on my side of the bed to cuddle.) Oh, maybe 2 minutes later my pillow, my side of the bed, LE and I are all covered in sickness. So, got everything cleaned up and everyone returned to beds around 2:30. To be woken up at 6:15 ready to start her day! So, I will be going to bed earlier tonight w/out any Olympics.

Halloween 2007

Richards Family Four
Pooh and Roo - no pics together
after trick or treating LE decided she did not want to take off her Pooh reminded me of myself about this time last year
5th crying fit of the day by a Richards
The Gumpls - first trick or treat stop - LE loves her "Elatalie"!!
Connor - our only trick or treater, not really but the only person I would give candy too!
I love my kids, I do truly, unconditionally LOVE my kids!! Just have to state that before I tell this story~ will there ever be a day we can go out for a family outing and not have tears?? The day started off with errands, so Bella's nap was delayed - yes, I know this is my fault, but I do run an at-home business and I had to run errands and put money in the bank! I thought she would nap in the car - NOPE! Our errands ended early b/c Bell's crying was "too loud and Bell needed a nap." So, her 10:00 nap started at 11:15 which meant she awoke at 1:15 as I was trying to get LE to lie down. LE did not lie down, she was wide awake, so we made a 2nd trip into town to finish errands. Finish errands at 2:30 and now time for Bell's second nap and LE's first - NOPE. LE finally fell asleep 4:15, right before Ben was to get home and begin to start dressing for our night out. Bell never fell asleep. When LE finally woke up around 6:35 she was crying and did not want anything to do with putting on her Pooh costume - which she picked out- I am not torturing my kids! We finally got it on her and Bell's on too and put into the car kicking and screaming. I felt like this idiot - we are going out, we are going to have fun and you will like it or you will get a spanking - I mean I caught myself thinking this! So my question is this...Does every Mother have high hopes of how these events, these life moments are supposed to occur? Am I setting myself up every time we walk out the door? I envision so many things differently and they never turn out that way. After play date last week I decided I would never leave the house again b/c LE wanted to keep the little girl's toys and had to buckle her in in front of my friends kicking and screaming. Then pumpkin patch - crying and refusing to have anything with me or the camera, now tonight - tears once again. Maybe I am asking too much? I just want a family picture (with no red eyes) to scrap book so it looks like my kids had a fun childhood!!!!!
