mommy milestone

I know it sounds pathetic (maybe not right word), but sad anyways. Yesterday, I did something for the very first time in almost 8 months...I ran errands with the girls by myself. We went to Ikea to pick up floor samples. Yes, I have been to the church by myself. But, that was always with the knowledge that when I got there I had someone's cell phone number that I could call in desperation to help me get out of the car. So, yesterday I finally got the nerve to venture out on our own. It went fine, the girls rode in their double stroller and giggled and people watched. Maybe next time I will try two stores or the bank:) No, I do not have any pictures of the big adventure I loaned my dad my camera for the Colorado vacation, so no new pics for a couple of weeks.

P.S. Bella has begun repeating the word Mommy. I know she does not know what it means yet, but LE's first word was mommy and now Bell, so I am feeling quite special!

Landry's cheese

We have one of those kids, one when you say smile, she goes...Cheese.

more teeth

finally...teeth

Here are those teethies I told you about. We had another major milestone today... we have forward motion! It is not what I would call a crawl, but she is thrusting herself forward. She did it this afternoon and Ben and I both got to see the first time.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

great website

Some of you may know I have given up eating sugar and bread for two weeks. By the end of week 1 I could not keep my pants on my hips. I actually had to wear a belt to keep them up. Since I no longer have my old jeans, this was my only option!
Anyways to the great website - http://www.hungry-girl.com/ Check out the Chew the Right Thing link. It has healthy alternatives to some favorite dishes and even includes points for you weight watcher fans! I cannot wait till next week to try the Oreo Pie.
BTW - the diet I am copying is South Beach Diet, but I have not been completely innocent. Ben took me to Cheesecake Factory this week and I made some wise choices - as we like to say in pre-k world. I had my favorite tea, but with sweet and low instead of sugar in the raw. We asked them to not bring the bread (hardest part of the meal). We substiuted the mashed potates with green beans and we split a piece of cheesecake to celebrate. Even though we fudged a little bit, it was much better than what we normally do when we go out to eat. I hope you enjoy the new website. I have included it in my fave places to visit.

first daddy date

Landry and Daddy had their first daddy date tonight. They went to see Charlotte's Web at Old Settler's Park. Every summer the park shows movies on a jumbo screen. Charlotte was the first movie Landry watched, so we knew she would enjoy it. Bella and Mommy are staying home for an early bedtime and some house cleaning.

another milestone

Bella got her first two teeth a couple of weeks ago, I have been waiting to capture a picture before I post, but I cannot get that lucky shot. Trust me though there are two little teeth in the that smile.

Landry wants to be more grown-up everyday. She knows the words to numerous songs and can count to 11. She is determined to learn her ABC's, she has the tune down but the letters are all out of order. This week she wanted to paint her toenails like mommy's.

Landry and her cap

Landry has a new thing for caps, she likes to wear her cap like Daddy's.

~with the exception of Bella, she FINALLY had fallen asleep and I was not going to let anyone wake her, hopefully we can photoshop her in:)
We like Susan ALOT! She is our kind of girl!
Bella and Mimi
sad story - Bella was supposed to have a matching flower girl dress like Landry's. The night before the wedding the seamstress' sewing machine broke and she ended up making Landry's dress by hand, 15 minutes till the start of the wedding she was sewing Landry's dress on her. I, of course, did not plan ahead and pack Bell anything else nice to wear, so she ended up wearing white overalls and a bright yellow t-shirt to her uncle's wedding. She is too cute to worry about it, but I felt like a hick sending my baby to a wedding in overalls, guess it was west Texas after all!

Bryan, Ryan, Kristi and Troy
My little brother Bryan got married this weekend. It was a beautiful wedding. I was a bridesmaid, Landry was the flower girl and my brothers, Troy was a groomsmen and Ryan was the best man. We absolutely LOVE Susan. She is from Wall, near San Angelo. The very first time I met her I knew she was the one for him, she fits in so well with our family. I wish I could post all of the photos, b/c I got a lot of fun pics, but here are a few of my faves.
Have fun in Hawaii!!
We are so happy for you!!
